Ekaterina Chalysheva – Lead Rehabilitation Specialist at Steplife and a prosthesis user for an above‑knee amputation since 2013. Ekaterina’s methodology, combined with her personal experience, provides patients with high‑quality rehabilitation results.
I stood on the prosthesis for the first time and immediately felt that walking could be natural again. With the Steplife Cross, each step feels confident and smooth, as if the foot itself helps you move. The roll is soft, and the movement is free from sudden drops or tension.
I’m still getting used to it, but I already realize that with this foot, I can return to everyday activities comfortably and without fear or discomfort.
Steplife is a Russian innovative company developing next‑generation prostheses. We combine robotic and bionic technologies to help people return to an active life.

Where to Start Preparing for a Prosthesis
After being discharged from the hospital, the first step is to visit a prosthetic center to get recommendations from prosthetists on residual limb preparation. They know which exercises and manipulations are necessary, as they will be making your prosthesis. You will also receive a medical-technical report, which allows you to start the process of obtaining disability documents (IPRA). The report will list the technical rehabilitation aids you need for a full life. You can read more about the documents here. A video on residual limb bandaging is available via the link.
Who Can Use a Steplife Prosthesis?
